Drivers Wanted |
WE NEED ZAMBONI DRIVERS!
There are a few levels specifically; Pee Wee Bs, Bantam Bs,
and Beginners that need drivers. If you could help out
with this please take the time to learn how to drive.
You have several opportunities to learn. Option
#1: Ride along with a person at your level when
they do the ice during a game or practice. Option
#2: Stop by the rink at 8:30pm on Wednesday nights
during Ice Maintenance and Brent Henry, Glen Baily, or Oak
Moser would be more then willing to show you how to drive
it. Option #3: Email Joe Berry
and he will get you in contact with someone who can show you
how to drive.
Because of everyone's busy
schedules we need multiple drivers at each level.
Don't feel that since we have "so & so"
who always does the ice that we don't need another
driver. What happens when that person isn't there for
whatever reason? The ice doesn't get done. Just
so that everyone has fair warning, we are going to discuss
this at the next board meeting and penalties such as
loss of ice time will be discussed for levels that don't do
the ice after they've used it. So as of now, NO
levels will be penalized, but if this continues to be a
problem that is a possibility pending the boards
discussion.

| Ice
Maintenance |
| TYH
Members, I would just like to take a moment to first
"Thank" everyone for their support of TYH so far this
year. We have had a very busy fall with rink set-up, WHSEL, and
getting our teams started. And now the next phase of our
season begins which is High School games and Tournaments.
These two items are probably the two largest single sources of
revenue that we have. These items allow us as an
association to keep our fees as one of the less expensive in the
state, and they allow us to continue to make improvements to our
facility. I just wanted to mention this because as the
season wears on we ALL need to continue to pitch in to make sure
these events run smoothly.
Along with help at these events
we need to make sure our facility is one that we are proud of
for years to come. The two biggest factors in determining this
will be rink clean-up/maintenance (which has looked nice so far
this year!) and ice maintenance. Ice maintenance takes
place on Wednesday nights starting at 8:30 pm and is quite an
extensive job to do. We have a few issues with the boards
that need attention, but we haven't had enough people there yet
to be able to get everything completed. If you have a
chance please stop by for an hour on Wednesday nights and help
our regular ice maintenance crew out.
Remember that all these items can
be counted towards your hours so please pitch in and get your
hours completed prior to next year's registration. Again,
thanks for a great first half of the season!
As always if there are any
questions or concerns that you may have please email me or you
can call my office at 372.5557. Joe Berry

| Kudos
to Brian Buswell & All American Lumber |
A HUGE
Thank You goes out to Brian Buswell and his family for
getting the netting put up at the rink on the spectator side.
They spent 8 hours on Saturday and Brian spent another 5 hours
the Monday before. He also used a lift from All
American all at no cost to TYH. Thanks Again Brian!

| Skate
Sharpening |
John Venner will now be sharpening
skates at the rink 5 days a week starting at the end of October.
You no longer have to make special trips just to get your skates
sharpened. Show up a little early for practice and find John.
The charge is $4 a pair with $1 being donated back to Tomah
Youth Hockey! So please take advantage of this new service...
